MASS HYSTERIA originates from Chicago’s south side underground hip-hop scene.  Initially forming in the early nineties, the crew now consists of two emcees, Mike Treese and Gee-Field, backed up by DJ Presyce.  Their first song was “Vocabulary Spill” in 1999 on the extremely successful MOLEMEN compilation Buried Alive.  In 2000 their debut single was “Exclusive” produced by Panik (MOLEMEN) b/w “I Get a Rush,” and “There Was a Time” produced by JOINT ROC.  The next release was the song “Persevere,” which was highly acclaimed and appeared on the MOLEMEN LP and 12” Ritual of the Mole.

Their latest 12” out on Rhyemsayers/ FAT BEATS is “It Ain’t Safe” produced by Dug Infinite and “Fall Out” featuring JUICE, produced by SC.  Listeners can hear these songs plus more new MASS HYSTERIA joints on their mix cds the CHICAGO UNDERWORLD, and The UNEXPECTED RHYMESAYERS Mix CD.  Also check for CHICAGO UNDERWORLD Vol. 2 and CHI-CITY BEATS Vol. 1, available at www.MASSHYSTERIAHIPHOP.com

DJ Presyce is a three time Skribble Jam DJ Battle Champion (1998-2000), and a two time DMC Regional DJ Champion (Chicago 1998 and NYC 2001).  He placed 2nd in the 2001 DMC USA Finals, and has been the DJ for artists including VAKILL, ATMOSPHERE, RUBBERROOM, MOLEMEN, and the TURNTABLE TECHNICIANS.  Specializing in that pure street hip hop sound, MASS HYSTERIA is definitely the next Chicago group to look out for.
